The Wisdom Of The Roots
From my walk in Angling Spring Woods
Welcome gentle souls,
Welcome to October.
The Wisdom of the Roots. The roots that nourish us and help us to grow into a mighty oak, and the need to build strong foundations for our house.
It got me thinking about our own roots, the people, places and experiences that have shaped us and the things that help us feel we belong.
Just as a tree needs strong roots, we too need something that holds us steady. We might find that with family, friendship, community, faith or simply a deeper connection to ourselves. We wouldn’t be who we are today without those that have gone before, but our roots are also shaped by what we choose to remain connected to. We might not cherish every part of what has gone before, but we carry something of those generations within us. Perhaps autumn with this gorgeous earthy energy is an invitation to notice what nourishes our roots and gently let go of what no longer does.
There is wisdom in knowing what to hold onto and what we are ready to let fall away.
So perhaps this October, we might ask ourselves: What keeps me rooted? What nourishes me? And what might I gently allow to fall away?
Like the trees, perhaps we can trust that there is wisdom in both holding on and letting go.
Until next time,
Blessings,
Stephanie
